Ingredients:
8 Sliced and Cored Apples (We Recommend Using Pavero™ Cortland, Fuji, or Honeycrisp Apples!)
2 Cups of Granulated Sugar
1 cup of Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup of Heavy Cream
2 Teaspoons of Ground Cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoon of Salt
2 Cups of All-Purpose Flour
2 Teaspoons of Baking Powder
1 Large Egg (Beaten)
Juice of 1/2 of a Lemon
1/2 Stick of Butter (Cut Into Small Squares)
Egg Wash
Instructions:
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F. While your oven is heating up… In a bowl, combine apple slices, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt and lemon juice. Make sure apples are evenly coated with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Step 2
In a separate bowl, using a whisk, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking soda and salt. Add in the cut up butter squares and blend together until the mixture begins to look like crumbs. Once you start to notice crumbs, add in your heavy cream and beaten egg and stir.
Step 3
Place your first mixture of apples into a prepped baking dish. Take the dough-like second mixture from Step 2 and place on top of the apples in the baking dish. Lightly brush egg wash over the top of the dough. Place dish in the oven for about 1 hour, or until golden brown. Take out of the oven and let it sit for about 10 mins. Serve with ice cream if desired.
Enjoy!
